about the artist

I create oil paintings of birds and trees inspired by songs and stories from my life. I like to call them my painted diaries.
Every painting begins the same way. An image catches me, a feeling rises up, and suddenly a song starts playing in my head. From there, the story begins to unfold almost on its own. It feels a little magical every single time.
My paintings explore all the messy and beautiful parts of being human. Birds and trees have become the emotional thread running through my work; they often stand in for love, relationships, vulnerability, and the quiet ways we carry each other through life.
Each piece is named after a song, and every painting is paired with a written story pulled from my own experiences, with bits of lyrics woven throughout.
Before becoming a full-time artist, I worked many different jobs and lived many different versions of myself. Now, in this season of life, I finally get to devote myself fully to painting — and I’ve never felt more at home.
I believe art connects us.
I believe music holds memories.
And I believe it’s never too late to begin again.
