Deck the Halls
Oil on board
8x8 with balck floater frame.
We had an artificial tree when I was growing up.
I think my parents bought it from Sears.
As we got older, we would help pull the boxes from the attic and put it together. I especially loved playing with the fat slinky-like garland that wrapped around the tree.
My mom would put white lights on it first, then colored blinking lights. The more lights the better!
We had so many handmade sequined ornaments that my Nan made in the '60's & 70's. They would shine against the lights.
I would listen to the Christmas albums and pretend the blinking lights kept the beat of the music.
"Deck the halls with
boughs of holly
Fa la la la la, la la la la"
It's pretty cool to be a kid.
