No Place Like Home for the Holidays

When I was a kid we had a stack of Christmas albums on the stereo turn table.
 
All the classics from the 60's and 70's.
 
The cardboard album covers were well worn, and the corners frayed a bit.
 
I remember my dad showing me the art of placing the needle on the album with the  gentlest touch.
 
The cracks and crinkles played before the music would start.
 
I still get chills thinking about it.
 
But the record that go played the most was Robert Goulet.
 
One of us would run down to the family room to play it from the beginning, as we waited upstairs in the living room to start opening up the gifts.
 
It's still one of my favorite albums.
