Santa Claus is Coming to Town

I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie two years ago.
 
I went to Christmas Prelude in Kennebunk, Maine 
and this was the tree in the center of Dock Square.
 
For years the shop owners and locals raved about this incredible event.
 
The streets are blocked off and all the stores and restaurant windows are decorated with lights and all the merriment of the season.
 
People were wearing all kinds of fun Christmas hats and light- up necklaces on top of winter coats.  
 
Families, strollers, and dogs filled the streets.
 
But the most incredible moment happened when everyone gathered shoulder to shoulder around the tree.
 
The choir lead us in a sing along:
 
"You better 
watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm tellin' you why
Santa Claus is 
coming to town"
 
We did a count down, and the tree magically lit up!  
 
Then fireworks filled the sky.
 
It was perfect.
