Queen of Hearts, 2025
We took long road trips to Maine in the summer.
My dad would sleep a few hours and wake us up at midnight, pile us in the back of the station wagon, and drive all night.
I knew he was getting tired when the radio got really loud, and he would start singing.
One year, we heard this song at least 5 times in the middle of the night.
"Playin' with the
Queen of Hearts
Knowin' it ain’t
really smart"
Catchy tune.
I bounced along in the seat next to him and wish I could go back in time and do it again.
Queen of Hearts, 2025
Oil on board, 8x8 with black floater frame.
